Selector KB: Uniting Beats and Heritage

Selector KB was born in 1994 in Derby, England. Growing up in a musically diverse household, he was exposed to a wide range of sounds from an early age. His mother had a deep love for music, particularly R&B, while his father is a DJ who is passionate about Jungle and Drum & Bass; two very different styles that helped shape KB’s broad musical taste.

Because of this contrast, KB developed an appreciation for many genres. His influences expanded even further when visiting his Jamaican grandfather’s house, where he was introduced to the sounds of roots reggae. These early experiences played a key role in shaping his musical identity and the direction of his journey as a selector.
